The iconic bassist and keyboardist Geddy Lee, along with the legendary guitarist Alex Lifeson, both members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® and co-founders of RUSH, have announced their return to the stage in 2026. The tour, titled Fifty Something, will celebrate the music, legacy, and life of the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, marking an end to an eleven-year hiatus since RUSH’s last tour in 2015.
According to Geddy Lee, the decision to return to touring was driven by a profound reflection on the importance of the music they created alongside Neil. “We really miss this, and it’s time for a celebration of 50-some years of RUSH music,” he stated. The band promises to deliver a wide selection of songs in cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring two sets each night with distinct repertoires drawn from 35 classic songs and fan favorites.
Who Will Drum for RUSH on Tour?
To fill the nearly irreplaceable role of Neil Peart, Lee and Lifeson announced the talented German drummer and composer Anika Nilles. Nilles has shared the stage with acclaimed guitarist Jeff Beck at over 60 shows and has released four solo albums. The musicians also plan to include one or two additional members to expand their sound and allow greater creative freedom on stage.
“Lerxst, Anika, and I, along with our long-time team, have been working hard rehearsing and designing the kind of show that fans expect from us. We hope everyone will come to celebrate our history together,” Geddy Lee said, emphasizing the emotional connection with the fan base.
Family of Neil Peart Supports the Tour
Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart, the widow and daughter of Neil, expressed their enthusiasm. “We are excited to support the Fifty Something tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated with and inspired fans for generations. Neil was irreplaceable, unmatched in his art, and unparalleled in the depth of his lyrics. It will be thrilling to hear that legendary music live once again.”
